All About sanjt

The dealio with me and the 360.

Now I'm not sure if anyone would ever read this...I'm not much for blogging, but meh. Guess it's healthy to blow off some steam some way...

So, if you are reading this, chances are you've clicked my name on the comments section of an article. I most likely was saying something regarding the PS3 or the Xbox 360. Now, if you read me saying something nasty about the 360, do not misconstrue my thoughts about the 360. Most of the time when I put down the 360, its because there is some muppet mouthing off the PS3 and creating an idea that the 360 is a perfect gaming machine, and Microsoft can do no harm...(Yea i know two wrongs don't make a right...but on the internet it's allowed ). Now I know Sony isn't perfect, and they have made some mistakes, BUT Microsoft are nowhere near the "Saints" people make them out to be. So, when someone slags off Sony, and creates this image of the "oh so perfect Microsoft gaming machine", I'm not going to sit idly-by and I will give that person a reality check. However, most often It's pretty fruitless...imagine trying to push a brick through a keyhole and you will have some idea of what it's like trying to give a second perspective to a fanboy.

So where do I stand with the 360? You know, I have nothing against Microsoft, or the 360. As I've emphasised before, I only have a problem with narrow minded, loud mouthed xbox fanboys. I think it's idiotic to have some personal grudge against a company which is bound by agreements, contracts, policies and all related business economics. I say this because I'm aware that a lot of fanboys on this site seem to have such feelings and have most likely never run a multi-billion dollar corporation... Anyhoo, onto the actual 360 console. So far there are only three games I am genuinely interested in; Dead rising, Gears of War and Mass effect. Gears of war is coming to the PC, so I may aswell cross that off my list (Right now my PC isn't very powerful, but I will be upgrading in the distant future for Crysis...yes I know its just one game, but its one very beautiful game ) , and Mass effect, although is not currently coming for the PC, will probably end up doing so looking at Biowares track record with its previous "Xbox exclusive" Fable and Knights of the Old Republic. Dead rising, while has me interested, is still way not enough for me to even consider a 360. This is also mainly due to its frightening breakdown rate. Once that problem has definitley been dealt with, then and only then will I think of the 360 as a future possibility.
All other great games such as Assassins Creed and RE5 that MS boasted at their E3 are also headed for the PS3, and Bioshock is headed for the PC.

I'm sure Xbox live is a great service, including its achievement points. And I'm sure for some people, it's what they love the most about their 360's. But for me, I just can't be arsed to keep track of achievements, and pay yearly for a service I will probably use once in a while. Remember, this is just me, and as of late I don't play online as much as others do. Lately I've been spending more time playing singleplayer than multiplayer, and it's mainly due to the fact that I've played all types of multplayer games to death on my PC, and I don't get excited as I used to be when I play games like Resistance and Motorstorm online...heh maybe I'm getting old. The only exception I can see for myself to play mutliplayer for hours and hours at a time is if it's a multplayer experience of something I haven't seen done before...like Tekken 5 DR online...now THAT I'm really looking forward to. And also Warhawk looks pretty cool too.

Btw if you hadn't noticed, apart from the odd FPS I'm not one for shooters. I'm not that crazy about Resistance, and I don't see what the fuss is about for Halo 3. IMO there are similar FPS games coming out that can be as fun or even more fun, e.g. Haze, UT3. But IMO, shooters like these are a dime a dozen. The only FPS games that really have my interest are Crysis, Killzone and Turok...but mainly because they look so awesome and Turok has dinosaurs man!!. I will also probably get UT3 for the PS3 now but that's mainly due to the fact that it has mod support and keyboard support, and instead of waiting a year or two to upgrade my PC for £2000-£3000, I can play it now at full settings, on my HDTV, with almost all the added perks of having a PC version.

Ok, I think I'm done for today...if people ever read this...and they probably won't, I may do another someday.

    Anyhoo, ciao for now.
