    Withdrawal symtpoms...

Never blogged, probably never will again. Just chucking it out there that I am highly conflicted as to which game to launch into on returning from a week in sunny Cairns. Tenth wedding anniversary holiday and it did not disappoint ;-) I have yet to finish:

    Shift 2

    Dragon's Dogma

    Portal 2

    Fallout NV

    Forza 4

That is a $hitload of gaming right there. I recently ploughed through GR Future Soldier which I thoroughly enjoyed. The single player campaign started off really slow but the last few missions were genuinely thrilling. Heavy emphasis on action so I was continually disappointed at the lack of even basic squad commands beyond stealth kills. Even the GRAW iterations had more depth. I would suggest then that GRFS is more a straight up shooter than anything else. Still, some of the set pieces were the equal of anything else out there.

OT: I desperately need to finish some games here. The statistics in relation to gamers not finishing games are astounding, and I hate being in that category. Same old story for most of us in that I also have games like Darksiders 2, Hitman, Sleeping Dogs and Borderlands 2 to come. Hooly-dooly!

I would have included Grid 2 on my future games list but in their infinate "wisdom" Codies decided to scrap cockpit view! A racing game is not a racing without this key element. I'm sure my stated boycott will cause cooler heads to prevail and reverse this irrational decision.

My tendency would be to jump into all the games I haven't finished yet, like an addict, and then regret my bleary eyed binge the next morning. Not only am I finding that I can't have more than 2-3 drinks in one sitting these days without feeling sluggish the next day, it's becoming a noticeable struggle to game beyond midnight and still retain any sense of good-humour while playing Lego with my two boys. I'm not hardcore anything these days. Thumbs down.
