  It Froze, No Broke

  There I was playing GTA IV on my PS3 and it froze (Friday night). I didn't think anything of it, I was riding a motorcycle after completing the mission No Love Lost and the screen just froze. All of the sounds were still playing as if everything was ok. Commercial after commercial played, the sound of the engine kept going but Niko did not . I pressed the PS button on my controller and selected quit game. I waited a couple minutes (seconds actually) and started my game over, the game didn't load. I repeated the whole process of turning off the PS3 and turning it on only to recieve the same result...Nothing. Luckily for Game Stop it was about 3 in the morning and I was starting to feel sleepy. Saturday morning (6:30 am) I decided to "try" again. It worked, I did a regular save instead of an auto save and felt victorious. This feeling was short lived once I had to cut the game off, BECAUSE IT FROZE! Grrr. So i called Game Stop when it opened and told them about what happened, the first guy replied "oh" very unenthusiastically, then transferred me to who I suppose was a manager who had a very strange tone of dread in his voice. He told me to bring my copy back in and he'd exchange it. When I exchanged it on Sunday he told me that if it freezes again to contact Sony because he's getting back copies from people who have a 60GB PS3. My new copy works fine so far. If it freezes again I will not be a happy camper.

  Mwuahahahaha! I Got My GTA IV!!!

  Yes, I must admit that I was one of those midnight shoppers who just couldn't wait to get her hands on my own special copy of GTA IV. I was torn between watching the whole Lakers/Nuggets game and heading down to my local Game Stop. Of course I waited until 11:45 to head down there and when the store opened I cut in line. Don't frown like that I did my civic duty by demanding that the guy in the wheelchair be first in. The store manager set (what I believe were riot inciting) rules, one in one out which he quickly changed to five in five out once he saw that there were at least a hundred anxious gamers. Some goody two shoes pointed out that he didn't rember me waiting in line and that I must've cut (he was right) but who can really tell who's who in a sea of hoodies and jeans. I was the second set of five allowed in, the guy at the cash register must've thought I didn't know the difference between the packages and tried to hand me a normal copy of the ps3 version. I corrected him faster than he could blink, "Oh no buddy, Collector's Edition, check the receipt.". As I exited the store I could feel the condemning stare of the goody two shoes gamer. I headed home, finished watching the Lakers/Nuggets game (which ended great) then started playing my GTA IV.

  I did what many gamers didn't do today, showed up for work. I spoke to a friend of mine who managed to get her hands on 2 copies (she doesn't have any type of a gaming system except for a cell phone and no that doesn't count). She's trying to sell her copies on eBay. I hate people like her. Yes, I even informed her of it. It just annoys me that people do petty #**$ like that. I think my disdain for her would be less if she actually had a gaming system and purchased a copy for herself as well as one to sell. Yes I know its capitalism and I don't need the whole speech about it but it just gets under my skin that people like her keep the games from being in the hands of actual gamers.

  Just till midnight

  All I have to do is make it until midnight to get my hands on what may be one of the greatest games ever, GTA IV. I went big this time and reserved the Collectors edition. I'm not excited about the "extras", I got them just for the sake of having them; I am excited about the game. I have already informed my boyfriend that may not be seeing me as much or receiveing any calls/texts from me and even though we'll be going through a non communication stage, I still love him. I've also informed my friends and associates that this Saturday will be the last time that I party with them, luckily for me it looks like rain so I'll be home.
