To be honest who actually cares about chopping up stormtroopers? It would be fun for awhile, but then you'd be like "oh I chopped his arm off again" and combat would be boring because everyone would die instantly, so you would need loads and loads of enemies to fight.

Also, if the saber could cut through people, it would be rated Mature, and restricting Lucas Art's audience. Since most of the people who would want to buy a Star Wars game are teenage boys aged 12-16, if the game was rated Mature, Lucas Arts would get very few sales. And what would Lucas Art's have at the end? A few bored gamers and some 5/10's for repetetive combat.

I've been having mixed feelings about this game. In the beginning, I was excited when they said it would use the DMM engine. Then the actual combat started making me feel a bit... disappointed. Now, this video is making think it will be fun, but it could have been better.

About dismemberment in Star Wars: It's been in their since the first SW movie made. It's one of the parts of lightsaber combat most people get excited about. Not having it here kind of ruins the mood. I mean, I kind of understand why but it still feels like a let-down (even though we knew several months ago that it wouldn't be here). Also, dismemberment doesn't mean one-hit kills unless the developers want them to be.

Honestly, amputation has been a part of Star Wars since the 70's. I am adding it into my Star Wars Sage edition table top RPG because it is absent in those rules also.

Amputations = Mature ratings to the ESRB. I am still very excited by this game but this will make me read the reviews first.

That was from a demo not the finished product. they still have time to work out the small problems.

Yeah I am also a little wary after watching this movie. It still looks prett cool, really slick looking and I bet it will be fun, but it looks kind of rough and not what I expect from a next gen. game. For example at 12 seconds when the apprentice slides the dead storm trooper across the floor by walking into him and at 30 seconds when he's running up the slope and runs in place without moving. It still looks cool but with all the talk about the dynamic tech I expected different.

The reason of not being able to cut enemies in half is because it would make fights to easy. It would be a one hit kill and would make the game extremely repetitive. I dont think it matters anyway.

Gamedude the reason darth vaders apprntice attacks stormtroopers is because he and vader are plotting to kill the emperor together. So if he is discovered by anyone the emperor might catch on to their plan.

ugh this looks horribly generic, I was expecting something original, not another arcade, lightsabre/baseball game.

Why would Darth Vaders apprentice attack Imperial Storm Troopers?

i liked the demo although it was short and i wasn't able to grip people but that's fine. On the other hand i do agree with the lightsaber that can't slice any one
And i guess there is no multi

I was really excited about this game when I heard about it a while back... Now i'm kinda glad i didn't pre order. The fact that the light saber doesn't cut those storm troopers in half really makes me wonder why Lucas gave this the go ahead to be created... that's just one point.

Why do they get the worst players to do the demo videos?? Seriously, this guy is horrible... and it's not just these videos its nearly all gameplay videos (with exception of Dead Space gp vids) It's almost like the guy has never played the game before... sad..

i totally agree with jim. if the movies have limbs and torsos being cut in half why not in the game? it really annoys me, kind of makes lightsabers look really weak, this same issue came up in soul calibur 4- shouldnt a lightsaber be able to cut conventional weapons in half?

I liked the demo but it's not a GOTY contender with some of the excellent games coming out this year. My main issue from the demo is that the auto-target on the force grip isn't good enough, I often end up grabbing the wrong object and faffing around try to grab the right one. Being able to cycle targets would have been much better!

The targeting should be more focused on objects on the screen when using the camera to pick something up. By the way, you can Force Grip a Stormtrooper to death (literally) and still use him as a weapon. Even if he's dead, he'll still be holding onto something before you knocked him senseless.
