    I figured with this being a PS+ freebie the online would be loaded but I couldnt find a match.

    Well, it can depend on what type of match you're playing. I found a ton of matches earlier on PSN in Ranked Match. I have heard that Player Match isn't as active at the moment. I guess most people are wanting to rank up right now.
