All the thumbs down is a funny thing to see, fact is the best 3D fighter is Tekken and the best 2D fighter is Street Fighter. Mortal Kombat isn't far off the mark with the latest iteration but I have to say, Virtua Fighter hasn't quite got the polish any of the other three titles have delivered. Personally I'd like to see a Streets Of Rage 4 released via PSN and Xbox Live in the style of the indie games. Looking forward to Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Jeff Gerstmann gives the final word on Virtua Fighter 5.
VF has always impressed visually but the lack of fluidity always disappoints. If you don't trigger a 'biting point' for the move the controls are often unforgiving and frustrating. Tekken destroyed VF when Tekken 2 came out.
well this would be my first virtua fighter but i've been playing the mortal kombat, soul caliber, and tekken franchises since release is really that different from those?
VF5 was made to display the technical powers of the PS3 in the beginning stage, and they did a damn good job. This game is awesome, I had it when I first got the system, and I would still play it today!
