Vice Presidents of Blizzard, Rob Pardo and Chris Metzen, discuss the importance of context and themes adding to the game experience, how shocking it is that geek culture has become popular culture, and being inspiring role models.
So much "I" and "we." Story-drive, average-gameplay games most definitely appeal to a sizable portion of gamers. That not something I'd expect Blizzard to understand since I consider the story of all their pre-WC3 games to be sub-par. It's the reason why I never got into Blizzard.
@Unfallen_Satan "It's the reason why I never got into Blizzard." and "I consider the story of all their pre-WC3 games to be sub-par" contradict each other.
Not at all. I have been unfortunate enough to have mainly friends who are into Blizzard games instead of Westwood games like I do. Most of them were gifts; I was pressured into buying a couple myself. I was rather resentful about that until we stopped playing together.
