Step into the ring with Chris Watters in this video review for WWE All Stars.
I'm thinking of getting this game for my new 3DS. :) The 3Ds version is supposedly exactly the same and in fact includes some of the DLC as well. Maybe in a few weeks. We'll see. :D
Drew Mcintyre is in this game? Really?! Some of the real Legends and contemporary stars they coulda/shoulda had, and he makes the cut? Really?! Still, this and some of the other choices aside, looks great, can't wait to play it.
Got the game yesterday for PS3(finally got one lol), played Fantasy Warfare from midnight til 3am, I haven't had that much fun with a wrestling game in a long time. It leaves some things to be desired, like a deeper caw mode with more slots, a couple more game modes, a randomized arcade mode, and make the reversal a TAD easier for certain moves. Also, fix online mode, loading times and the stupid caching data problem on the PS3.
Looks like a lot of fun! I haven't been a fan of wrestling since I was a kid, but the arcade style looks like it works really well.
you complain for 60 bucks this game in my country cost 90 bucks . but illl buyt it looks incredible 1 week more and ill buyt
errrrr. The medicore score really didn't match up with the very positive review. And the things that were picked on in the review were frankly a little stupid. Counters aren't that hard at all. You get used to the timing for certain moves. Making it easier to counter would make for absurd games where you'd stuggle to pull off anything. That coupled with the fact that you found finishers "hard to do" suggests you actually didn't know how to play. If you use your finisher at the right moment it is virtually *impossible* not to execute it. And the way you fly around the ring...Yeah, so what? It's a cartoon. The only valid criticism raised was the lack of game modes.
its funny how drew is featured in a WWE game called all stars, yet he didnt even have a match at wrestlemania, did he hit on stephanie or something? why is he being punished?
I will be buying this game, but not for a long time.I agree the demo was fun,but this game is not worth 60 bucks.I agree cometkd 40 bucks sounds about right. Now a game with all the legends and all of todays wrestlers that plays like Pre-2007 Smackdown vs. Raw would be Awesome!
I enjoyed the Demo a lot. Doubt i'd pay full price though. Hey, it's ultra ego yanks pretending to fight, that to me is WWE lol
I won't get this because of the limited character choices. Combining the legends and superstars makes for a good "choice", but the idea is to play one against the other means both sides needs to be counted separately. There are way too many classic WWE wrestlers that should have been included and weren't. I'm passing on buying this for that reason.
Just to give you guys a heads up on missing wrestlers. I would recommend telling THQ and if there is enough requests for that wrestler they will hopefully have them in DLC packs. THQ always does planned DLCs down the road to milk profits because they now that people will pay like 5 bucks for 2-4 wreslters and alternate costumes like they've done with SVSR.
"plastic" graphic looks 2004's This game isn't as bad as the graphic engine :/ reminds me guitar Hero. I don't like it.
Goldberg and Brock Lesnar as DLC please !!! I want a four man match with Goldberg vs Brock vs Stone Cold vs The Ultimate Warrior.
I would have liked to see Female Wrestlers/WWE Divas in "All-Stars," as well as the ability to make your own female CAWs.
Had a chance to play. While its not the best WWE game, it is pretty fun to play. Though with the CAW you can't pick all of your moves. Only choice is to pick from preset moves of the superstars already in the game. There are a number of other draws also, but the over the top aspect of the game will keep you hooked for a while. Can't way to play the next one if they decide to actually make another :D
I don't know why game developers waste their time wasting ours. Not all wrestlers were all cut muscled monsters and the muscles in this game give steoroids a run for their advertising money, never mind that a kick in the crotch sends you flying into the air 10 feet to land outside where a normal human being would simply die from the fall or break their neck and bones. Game devs need to be more responsible because if they are aiming at kids, who are already too impressionable, chances are those kids will imitate the gameplay graphics in this game to disastrous effect and injury. They need to give us a game that shows how console dev tools advanced in the five years now and give us advanced graphics that make sense and gameplay as well.
This looks like a blast to play. The pumped characters and the over the top moves look awesome. It's a shame it's getting a lot of negative feedback from the reviewer and fans. I pay $60 for top notch games. I'll buy this game once it goes down in price.
the worst wwe ever ..... i would play wwe 2009 for a long time and have fun than playing this 5 years old wwe
omg i bought this game for 60 bucks and what a waste of money it was, only 7 match types, not enough game modes, the control scheme is horrendous, the finishing moves are cool but the reversal system is flawed as the computer on hard which i play on reverses perfect everytime. Only fun part about this game is the online, other then that its fun for 20 minutes by urself then you will be turning it off and this guy who reviewed this is an idiot for saying the controls are uncomplicated ahaha
Imo the over the top style is great. It's what "pro wrestling" actally tries to be. If I bought a wrestling game, it would probably be that.
Great Idea, but over all, not a good game. Its a step in the right direction but the lack of a long lasting story mode catered to each wrestler specifically and/or other features like the Royal Rumble still leaves a lot to be desired here. Once you beat up the same guys on one on one matches a few times the game doesn't offer much more for long lasting appeal. Definitely needs like a season mode and more types of matches and even a ref and rules (like count outs and DQ's and all) to make things more fun and organized. The game just plays like a random one on one match using one of your favorite wrestlers and that's really all the game has going for it. Good start but it needs a lot more next time around for replyabilities sake.
I keep getting frustrated that AKI (now SynSophia) doest come out and continue the wrestling greats that it made for N64 (World tour, Revenge, WM2k and No Mercy). They made the first 2 Def Jams in that style and that was cool but the SVR series has constantly been a disappointment because they just wont make the control scheme the same as it perfectly was in the N64 days. Its been a while since Ive gotten into a wrestling game much, I passed on most of the SvRs but I did pick this one up and although it doesnt compete with the AKI legacy, it is a ton of fun and well worth the 60 bucks. Its probably about on par with WCW vs nWo: World tour in my opinion. If they expand on match types and new in game actions then an ALLSTARS series would have alot of potential.
Though I'm not a huge fan of wrestling games, I may consider getting this one... It looks impressive.
Played the demo...yeah this is easily the worst wwe game I've ever played. no entertaining blood effects, no weapons, just looks comical this isn't worth 60 bucks not even close. Meh I stopped playing these games, hell the tv show sucks ass as well just really boring and embarrassing to watch anymore. Only when The Rock and Stone Cold were on was it actually awesome to watch.
Dam chris waters is a great reviewer! The emphasis on is speach in my personal opinion is one of the best at gamespot.
@Janus67 Michaels and Hart are both in the game. Doubt Golddust or Mankind are. But I agree with you about the N64 classics, those were great games
@Janus67 Shawn Michaels and Brett Hart are in the game. Michaels is one of the last possible unlocked characters and is often referred to in game by his nickname "The Heartbreak Kid".
OMG! I never expected that WWE superstar could fly. :D game looks good and the combat looks great. This should be a better game coz its faster than the previous ones. where as in the previous wwe gets a bit boring at some points, your body becomes red and it becomes obvious that the other guy wins. I am getting this. :)
Meh, doesn't really look that great to me. I still miss my WWF Raw back on the N64. and WCW vs NWO. Looks like all the dudes are out of Gears of War (beyond steroided). Oh and where's Shawn Michaels and Brett Hart? Golddust or Mankind?!
