    personally i thought gears 2 was better, but it wasn't as revolutionary or as much of a surprise as this game was. in 2006 a 9.6 is probably worth a 9.0 in 2008

    Man this game is a classic, gears of war is proof of how good a game can be if its graphics, story, environment and weapons all fit together perfectly. Gow2 wasnt nearly as good.

    @smackerlacker yes some dialouge does seem unneccassary and does remind me of some ganster wannabes from school but still its a fun interesting game

    @ every one who doesnt like the pc version once again i may be biased but how can the pc version be worse when its the same just with pc controls and improved graphics plus some extra missions

    Are you kidding me? The Ps3 has way more technically stunning games. Gears of War looks and plays great, but it isn't close to beating games like MGS4 and Killzone 2.

    First of all GoW is a fun shooter on xox and not on pc. The pc version sucks I have to say. Second of all GoW 2 multiplayer isn't broken it's just that some people have bad internet connection that's all! Never played GoW or GoW 2, but I'll buy them, I can't wait.

    I played the pc version. I was not impressed. The lighting makes everything look like plastic. And the characters are all Arnold Schwarzenegger lookin dudes with ridiculously big muscles that probably couldn't clap if they wanted too. This game seems to be aimed at gangsta wanna-bee's. There's only one useful weapon, the grenades are a waste of time, and the core game-play consists of popping out, trying to shoot something, then hiding to recover. It's pretty pathetic. Don't ever play this game.

    khaos i agree but you relize you just said that to many people who are console fanaics or gears of war fans who love consoles so other than me your not gonna get much support. still i may be biasd by my love of the pc but i agree with you

    boring game, so macho, boring stale storyline about a hero saving the worls from an alien invasion, oh please no imagination. practically futile one button cover button.

    @Profzhu- I thought that the weapon balance was a huge improvement over gears 1. The matchmaking system needs patching, but, although i still use the shotgun, the lancer can actually do something now. . i just never liked that someone could get kills by rolling around with the shotgun all game. that wasnt the type of gameplay the developers were going for. personal preference i guess

    gears of war 1 beats gears of war 2 hand down. unless epic start doing some serious patching and balancing for the broken gears 2 multiplayer

    i got this about 1 1/2 weeks ago along with a 360 elite, and i barely played like 1 hour into it because i was busy with my ps3. playing mgs4 and cod waw. I restarted playing it yesterday and i got into it, its a fun experience and although it doesnt compare to say mgs4 or cod 4 or waw. its a great game. i have all 3 systems and this is a good game for the 360. i am just trying out 360 exclusive games and this is the first one i like. im most likely getting the 2nd soon to continue it. since im already on act four outta five. that sucks, wish it was longer. I like ps3 better though, but 360 takes second place next to it.
