Is GTA 4 is censored now?

    I live in California, bought my uncensored GTA IV at the nearby gamestop, and L&D at my nearby gamestop. I'm positive the censorship comes from the update that came out last night, not from L&D. My game is censored now, so I'll just wait to hear what the reasoning is.

    This what I found out about the recent patch. I have been reading diffrent posts and this seems to be the situaton:

    EU was uncensored-------------------EU got censored
    AU was censored-----------------------AU got uncensored
    US was uncensored--------------------US still Uncensored

    The diffrences are the blood pool that emits under the body of a killed human are gone, there are still blood splashes though.

    There is no blood on your jacket as you get shot.

    You can no longer choose services of the hookers. You only get to see the rear bumper in a fixed camera angle and hear whats going on.

    The AU got the uncensored version and we got a censored one.WTF???

    I would very much to know why they did censor it.

    I deleted the patch by doing the system maintenace on the hard drive but Lost and damned would not work without the patch.

    I also tried to start the game with a US account installing the patch, its still censored.

    I hope they fix this, Im in the UK zone and I think its incredibaly cheap. This game is rated 18 here not 15 like in australia, so they have no excuses.

    US here ... definitely still pools of blood under the deceased. Haven't messed with hookers but the lap dances at the strip club are the same.

    yep this is confirmed now well at least for me

    got home tested my disc that CLEARLY HAS 18+ ON IT!!!!!, censored in both gta and L&D after patch, deleted patch and cant play L&D but gta works and is back to normal

    now then i had mate come over and bring his version of gta over which he got here in australia, stuck it in and downloaded patch.....intresting that gta was still censored but L&D was not we could get hookers and so much more blood and pools to ride bike though i was stoked so only un-censored L&D not normal mode for aussie version

    not sure 1 guy in california would be censored now i thought patch did nothing to US version?

    now guess we just wait for another patch or something to bring our 18+ discs back to standards

    yea you'll need to re d/l update every time you want to use L&D since the ability to launch game was in the update.

    I did check it tonight as well and was censored.What a pille of ....

    I fell rip-off for at least not had been warned about the censorship.

    BTW:I'm european aswell.
