Update: Online Co-op
Posted: Nov 4, 2008 12:21 pm PT
On the day that Fable II arrived in stores, Microsoft released a free update that added online co-op play to the game. It's worth noting, however, that only the player who is hosting the game gets to use their character from the single-player adventure.

Hey, M-Man, look how Bethesda did the Elder Scrolls series, and look what they accomplished with Oblivion. I think you would be wise to learn from the best.

As an avid Fable fan here are some ideas Lionhead. The next game should give the option to have the dog stay at home, say with your family. Giving the player the right to truly choose and adding a new dynamic to taking care of your family, maybe even have your things get vandalized if you are gone for long periods of time without a guard dog . Also i really think 1 button combat worked well but 1 button magic would be better assigned to a wheel system allowing you to cast a full range of spells at there individual levels. Please polish the bugs before the release, we would all rather wait a few more weeks then see inconsistent game play. And i am psyched that they are backing their word on new cool DLC. Cheers!

Very interesting. I like the fact that he is willing to show what didn't work along with what did. Some of those concepts would definitely work in the future though.

An interesting lecture. It's a shame some people don't have the attention span to watch long vids, as this one was quite enlightening. I'm still wondering what material and ideas are being utilised and implemented for the 'seeing the future' DLC for Fable 2, which is due for release very very soon. Hopefully all this secretive behaviour will result in a great and innovative release and not just unecessary hype for what may essentially be a few added quests.
