Well, the blade of woe is nice to keep as a just in case you change your mind and want the dark brotherhood. if you dont want to be in the dark brotherhood, then just dont kill Rufio for the initiation quest. u wont be bothered again until u kill rufio.

The only way I found to truly get rid of the Blade of Woe is to complete the DB questline.

Get arrested with just the Blade of Woe and a lockpick in your inventory and breakout - and then just leave it behind.
