This is a promising game... I've been waiting for a worthy child of the 90's UFO and XCOM... seems this one will deliver...
@Briantb_2008 Just prepare your hype, one thing that this trailer fails to deliver is the actual gameplay itself. It's a turnbased combat, much like Fallout used to be, or the previous xcom games, and civilization.
@Bhemont There are plenty of vids about actual gameplay out. The game play doesn't look that much different than from this trailer actually. When you shoot at something it zooms in and shows what they call the glam cam for a close up of the action.
This game looks pretty good, hope u can have more than just 4 guys at a time in your squad.. They need to make more good strategy games..
@Spunkermonkey According to the gameplay features, you will be able to have up to six people in your squad... I think it's ok, since the UFO saga from cenega had a limit of 7 people. That also gives you a sense of not using your troops as cannon fodder...
Cool u need at least six dudes in ur squad although some cannon fodder might be nice, but i would be happy with six. :-)
The wait is too long. I wish it was finished today! I love these types of games! And Especially XCOM/UFO series!
@Phoenix602 You and me both! I don't think they'll understand that we have to save Earth from extinction!
I'm a HUGE X-com fan since X-com UFO Defense came out in '94, but sadly I haven't been to impressed after Apocalypse came out in '97, this is the first one I'm really excited about. I hope they do the game justice. It would be a shame to see a hack job done on such a fun game franchise. October can't get here soon enough!
Kind of sad. This is the only thing really featured at E3 that is an "E3 Featured Game" on Gamespot. It's also the only damn game I want to play.
It's barely getting coverage.
I'm feeling so old.
It still looks cool, but what happened to the retro style from that trailer that came out a long time ago? THAT was a super-cool looking trailer
@mrfidget well that one was part of the XCOM name, but it was going to be a shooter... waaaaay off from the original XCOMs, which were turn based tactical squad strategy with elements of rpg growth (levels of proficiency with different weapons). I don't know if they are still going to launch it... They delayed their launch until 2013... guess they heard the fans!
@mrfidget different game - there are 2 games with almost the same name !
